STL studies computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using in-house code, well-established software for high-performance computers, open-source software, and code development. In addition, this laboratory conducts wind tunnel tests using large experimental facilities and conducts joint research with other institutions (such as JAXA and DLR). Anyone interested is welcome to join us.<\/p>\r\n<p>The regular events in STL are as follows:<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #b7282e;\"><strong>Seminar with CFML<\/strong><\/span><br \/>In the weekly seminars, the students present their research progress. The seminar is jointly held with the CFML. Please check the presentation schedule <a href=\"https:\/\/cfml.eng.hokudai.ac.jp\/meeting-schedule.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #b7282e;\">Laboratory meeting<br \/><\/span><\/strong>STL also conducts weekly meetings to assess the progress of each student&#8217;s research, share information, and discuss issues.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #b7282e;\">Others<\/span><br \/><\/strong>Several events are jointly held with the CFML. We (CFML and STL members) usually host a welcome party for new students in April, and for internship and international students.
